A vacant church in New Kensington was destroyed by a fire that broke out late Saturday night and spread to a neighboring house. No one was injured, according to a Westmoreland County emergency dispatcher.
Firefighters from several area companies battled the blaze at the vacant church building in the 1300 block of Constitution Boulevard. The fire started at about 11:15 p.m.
Damage to the neighboring home was severe. It was not immediately known whether the home was abandoned. It took several hours to bring the blaze under control.
