National Network of Digital Schools names executive director

The National Network of Digital Schools has appointed former Erie School District Superintendent James Barker as executive director of its new Pennsylvania Digital Learning Network.

The network is aimed at offering school districts statewide high-quality educational programs and services delivered online or digitally.

The learning network is part of a pilot program that received $500,000 from the U.S. Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Education. NNDS is a nonprofit management foundation and a spin-off of the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School.
