Yoga teacher Max Strom, author of "A Life Worth Breathing," will be in Pittsburgh Sept. 17 and 18 to do workshops at Schoolhouse Yoga.
Mr. Strom was the founder of the Sacred Movement Center for Yoga and Healing in Los Angeles. He lectures on how yoga can heal your body, calm your mind, and heal your emotions.
Schoolhouse Yoga offers instruction in Ashtanga, Hatha, and Kundalini Yoga at locations in Squirrel Hill and the Strip District. For more information, call 412-401-4444.
Yoga Flow is sponsoring a yoga retreat at the Hacienda Tres Rios in the Yucutan peninsula 45 miles south of Cancun, Mexico Nov. 5-11.
Yoga Flow offers instruction in heated Vinyasa Flow yoga at locations in Murrysville, Shadyside and Aspinwall. Heated yoga reduces the risk of injury and permits students to go deeper into the asanas (poses), according to Yoga Flow's Web site.
Those who attend the retreat in Mexico will "greet the morning sunrise with our sun salutations and sit under the moon in deep meditation," said Yoga Flow's owner, Dominique Ponko.
Rates for the six nights at the retreat range from $1,606 per person for a triple room to $2,110 per person for a deluxe single. For more information, visit www.yogaflowpittsburgh.com.
