Hampton council opposes forced local government merger bill
Thursday, July 29, 2010

Hampton Township council approved adoption of a resolution opposing forced local government mergers and consolidation during its regular meeting Wednesday night. The resolution is in opposition to House Bill 2431, which would eliminate municipalities in favor of county-wide public services.

"We're disgusted with [big government] trying to have merger and consolidation forced down our throats," said Councilman Victor Son. "None of us support [the elimination of municipalities]."
